Managing Director
Shirin Gomari
Shirin graduated in Ceramic Engineering in 2005 in the ancient city of Meybod Yazd, Iran. Studying in Yazd, the state of ceramics in Iran, with more than 3000 years traditional pottery history, inspired Shirin to explore all aspect of tile creation, from designing to quality control and developing clay and glaze formulas as well as the commercialization of the products. After eight years as an engineer in tile factories in Iran; she and her husband took the bold step to migrate to Australia in 2015 to build a new life.
After spending time exploring the ceramic industry in Australia, Shirin decided that the ancient Persian tile tradition was begging to be introduced to this beautiful country. So Amethyst Art Factory was born in 2022 with a mission to custom make beautiful tiles that express a client's soul essence to create harmony and meaning in personalised living spaces - in authentic Persian tradition.
Shirin's passion extends beyond just tiles. She is deeply engaged in spiritual growth and strives to infuse spaces with meaning and harmony through her work with tiles. Shirin's daughter: Amethyst, who shares mum's delights in tile art, wants to follow in her mother's footsteps.
